The Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog launched on January 5th with a wonderful line up of great product to celebrate the special occasions during the year. This weekend the Stampin' Addicts are getting together to introduce you to some of our favorites! You can find the entire Blog Hop line up at the Stampin' Addicts Forum or just click on the Previous or Next buttons below when you are ready to move to the next stop on the Hop. The good news is that all the stops are linked in a circle so you'll eventually end up where you started. This is the first stop of the Hop, but you if you started with another Blog Hostess and you are moving forward, you have arrived from Betty's Kitty Stamp blog featuring the Playful Pals bundle; her ornament made with two triangle boxes is stunning! However, if you are moving backwards through the Hop, then you have arrived from Tanya's Tinkerin' In Ink blog where she is featuring the Birthday Blooms stamp set. I just love the watercoloring work that she has done with this set!
I'll be showcasing the Party With Cake stamp set with the coordinating Party Pop-up Thinlits for the Big Shot. So let's get started!
The colors for this card come from the It's My Party Designer Series Paper used for the background: Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Mint Macaron, and Sahara Sand. I just want to say that the It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack is 48 sheets of 12" x 12" awesomeness! And it's not just for birthdays--there are some great background patterns, too. I like the fun look of this card front; but if you really want some fun, take a look at the inside!
How cool is that???!!! I am so tickled with how this pop-up cake turned out. The basic cake form was die cut with the Big Shot using the Party Pop-up Thinlits (for best results you'll need the Precision Base Plate) on Whisper White cardstock. Then I paper-pieced elements die cut from additional patterns from the It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack, Sahara Sand cardstock, and Melon Mambo cardstock. Let me tell you that the Fine Tip Glue Pen and Tombow Multi Adhesive were invaluable tools for the paper piecing. I completed the inside of the card with strips of paper from the It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack.
Supplies I used for this card --
Stamps: Party With Cake; Inks: Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Mint Macaron; Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Mint Macaron, Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Gold Foil Sheets; Designer Series Paper: It's My Party Stack; Embellishments: Metallic Foil Doilies, Gold Metallic Thread; Adhesives: Fast Fuse, Mini Glue Dots, Tombow Multi, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals; Tools: Stampin' Trimmer, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, Big Shot w/Standard Cutting Plates, Magnetic Platform, Precision Base Plate, Lots of Labels Framelits, Party Pop-up Thinlits
My second project is another birthday card, but this time I wanted to get some glitter going.
The Pool Party cardstock you see at the center of the card front is actually a pop-up from the Party Pop-up Thinlits. I clipped off the pop-up part to make the die cut the focal point for the card front. The glitter comes from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and another new product: Wink of Stella Clear ink brushed onto the streamers and dots of the Bermuda Bay cardstock embossed with the Big Shot using the Confetti Textured Impressions embossing folder. There's more glitter on the inside of the card, too.
It's a bit easier to see the Wink of Stella clear ink brushed over the letters of It's Your Day! The strip of paper along the left side of the liner comes from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack (in the 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! Catalog).
Supplies I used for this card --
Stamps: Party With Cake; Inks: Bermuda Bay, Tip Top Taupe, Wink of Stella Clear; Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper; Designer Series Paper: Cherry on Top Stack; Embellishments: Tip Top Taupe 1" Dotted Trim, Whisper White 5/8" Organza ribbon; Adhesives: Fast Fuse, Tear & Tape, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals; Tools: Stampin' Trimmer, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, Big Shot w/Standard Cutting Plates, Multi-Purpose Platform, Confetti Textured Impressions embossing folder, Magnetic Platform, Lots of Labels Framelits, Precision Base Plate, Party Pop-up Thinlits
My final project is a gift bag made using the Gift Bag Punch Board and a piece of Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper.
The Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper is a Kraft cardstock with a heavier weight than the regular Stampin' Up! cardstocks and is printed on one side and has silver embossed designs on the other side. I chose a piece with Watermelon Wonder printing that looked like pieces of confetti. To decorate the bag, I die cut stars with the Big Shot, layered them, and adhered the stacked stars at a jaunty angle to the front of the gift bag. At the center of the stars I added a sentiment punched with the Washi Label punch. The candles were punched with the candle punch from the Party Punch Pack. The hanging tag features Wink of Stella Clear ink brushed over the letters of It's Your Day.
Supplies I used for this gift bag --
Stamps: Party With Cake; Inks: Watermelon Wonder, Wink of Stella Clear; Stampin' Write Markers: Crushed Curry, Watermelon Wonder; Cardstock: Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White, Silver Foil Sheets; Designer Series Paper: Shine On Specialty; Embellishments: Whisper White Baker's Twine, Whisper White 5/8" Satin ribbon; Adhesives: Fast Fuse, Tear & Tape, Stampin' Dimensionals; Tools: Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Gift Bag Punch Board, Washi Label punch, 1/16" circle handheld punch, Party Punch Pack, Big Shot w/Standard Cutting Plates, Magnetic Platform, Stars Framelits
