Border Banter -- Stampin' Addicts Holiday Catalog Blog Hop
Border Banter Congratulations

Frightening Feline Scrapbook Page

Hi there!

I hope you all enjoyed the Stampin' Addicts Holiday Catalog Blog Hop last weekend.  So many awesome ideas!  If you didn't have time to hop through all the stops, it's not too late to visit.  Just click here and follow the prompts near the end of each post to proceed to the next stop on the hop.

As promised, I'll be sharing a bit more detail on the projects I featured during the blog hop using the Border Banter stamp set.  The first one is the 8" x 8" scrapbook page.

Two of the Border Banter stamp set images were used to create the border at the top and bottom of the Pumpkin Pie cardstock scrapbook page using Pumpkin Pie ink.  The line of dots image was stamped first side-by-side along the bottom and top edges of the scrapbook page.  Because I was using the Clear Mount version of this stamp set I didn't need to use a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for placement.  You can see that there's a slight wave in the line, but I think it adds to the fun of the page.  The "Spooky Creepy Crawly" image was stamped side-by-side below the line of dots across the top of the page and above the line of dots across the bottom of the page.  Next, I stamped the line of dots below the "Spooky Creepy Crawly" line of images at the top of the page and above the "Spooky Creepy Crawly" line of images at the bottom of the page.  Soft Suede ink was sponged along the edges of the scrapbook page.

Two 1 1/2" strips of Very Vanilla cardstock were randomly stamped with the spider web image from the Wicked Cool stamp set using Soft Suede ink.  The edges of the Very Vanilla cardstock strips were sponged with Soft Suede ink.  The strips were adhered along the top and bottom edges of a piece of Soft Suede cardstock (the edges sponged with Soft Suede ink) cut to fit in between the borders stamped at the top and bottom of the page.  The photos for this scrapbook page would be placed across the Soft Suede cardstock.

The Frightening Feline single stamp image was stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Staz-On Jet Black ink.  The spider web image was stamped along the top and left edges of the cardstock using Soft Suede ink and the edges of the Very Vanilla cardstock were sponged with Soft Suede ink.  The Very Vanilla cardstock was double matted with Soft Suede and Pumpkin Pie cardstocks, the edges of both mats sponged with Soft Suede ink.  The focal point was adhered at the lower right corner of the scrapbook page using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Small Jewels Basic Rhinestones were adhered to the feline's face for eyes and a piece of Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta ribbon bow was adhered at the "neck" of the feline with a Mini Glue Dot.

If I were making a two page spread, the page shown above would be the right hand page.  The left hand page mirrors the right hand page.

This time the stamping on the focal point uses only stamp images from the Wicked Cool stamp set.  The boots, hat, and bats images were stamped on the Very Vanilla cardstock using Staz-On Jet Black ink.  The open areas on the hat band and the socks for the boots were filled in using the pen tip of the Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker.  The bats image was inked once and stamped three times without reinking to create a bit of dimension for the flying bats.  The spider web image was stamped around the bottom and left edges of the cardstock using Soft Suede ink.  The edges of the cardstock were sponged with Soft Suede ink.

At the upper left corner of the page, the Halloween sentiment from the Delightful Dozen stamp set was inked with the brush tip of the Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black Stampin' Write Markers, stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, and punched out using the Decorative Label punch.  The edges of the punched image were sponged with Soft Suede ink and the lower third of the punched image adhered behind the Soft Suede cardstock.  The "2012" was hand-written under the sentiment using the pen tip of the Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker.

I'll be back tomorrow with another Border Banter project featured during last weekend's Stampin' Addicts Holiday Catalog Blog Hop.

I love these! The way you stamped the spider webs is just perfect. And I also love what you did with the witch's legs and that whole stamp set.
