Crazy About You in a Box -- Part 3
A Peaceful Christmas Scene

A Vintage Look for Christmas

Happy Monday!

I hope you're having a wonderful day!  I'm finishing up paperwork from a busy weekend of stamp clubs.  Lots of my customers took advantage of Stampin' Up!s great new promotion:  15% off stamp sets.  Woohoo!  This discount applies to any stamp set UNLESS it's part of a bundle, on the clearance rack, or a rotary stamp.  You even get the discount on stamps you choose with your Stampin' Rewards (except for Host stamp sets)!  The really important thing to know is that this promotion has a very short duration:  It's only available through Friday, October 23.  So if you have stamps on your Wish List, you'll want to take advantage of this great promotion right away!

Today's post is a card designed for my Christmas card class.  [I designed five cards for this class; this is the second one I've posted.  You can see the first card here.]  This card has a vintage look that was very popular with the class participants.

This card begins with a Cherry Cobbler card base that was randomly stamped with the wide ornament and ornament cap from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set using Versamark.  Then the edges of the card front were sponged with Early Espresso ink.  A strip of Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper was adhered to a slightly larger strip of Pacific Point cardstock and then adhered near the left edge of the card front.  I have to say that I never would have thought to combine Pacific Point with Cherry Cobbler if those two colors had not been used together in the Designer Series Paper.

A piece of Pacific Point cardstock was punched at one end with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch and the other end with the Triple Banner punch.  The edges were sponged with Early Espresso ink and the tag adhered to the card front at a jaunty angle using Stampin' Dimensionals.  A piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was stamped with the "THINKING of you..." sentiment using Early Espresso ink, banner tails were cut with Paper Snips, and the edges of the banner sponged with Early Espresso ink.  The banner was adhered to the bottom of the tag just above the inverted point of the banner tail.  A piece of Gold 1/8" ribbon was looped through the opening at the top of the tag.

The small round ornament from the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits dies was used to die cut a piece of Gold Foil Sheets.  A scrap of Pacific Point cardstock was punched with the 1/2" circle punch and adhered at the center of a scrap of Cherry Cobbler cardstock punched with the 1-3/4" circle punch.  The circles were adhered to the back of the die cut ornament using rolled up Mini Glue Dots OR the Fine Tip Glue Pen.  The ornament was adhered to the tag above the sentiment.  An ornament cap was die cut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock using the die from the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits and adhered at the top of the gold ornament using Mini Glue Dots.

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, the edges sponged with Early Espresso ink.  The "WITH loving WISHES..." sentiment was stamped at the upper center of the liner using Early Espresso ink.  The long ornament image was stamped at the left edge of the liner using Pacific Point ink.  A scrap of Cherry Cobbler cardstock was die cut using the ornament cap die from the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits and adhered at the top of the Pacific Point ornament.

The long ornament image was stamped at the left edge of the Medium Very Vanilla Envelope using Pacific Point ink.  The ornament cap image was stamped at the top of the ornament using Pacific Point ink.

I'll be presenting another card from my Christmas card class on Wednesday.  I hope you'll stop by to see it.

Have a great week!
