From Christmas Tags to Christmas Cards -- Part 2

Hi There!

This post features more of the Christmas cards I made from the tags in the Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit.  The kit makes 30 tags; 3 tags each of 10 different designs.  I decided to make a set of 10 Christmas note cards from 10 of the tags.   Here are the tags made with the kit.

I'll be featuring cards made with the tags numbered 5 through 7.

Tag #5:  The tag made with the kit included a jingle bell, so I had to remove that for the Christmas card as it would be problematic to mail.  Bummer.  Since the tag shape is the same as those in the Lots of Labels Framelits, I chose the next larger size of framelit and die cut Garden Green cardstock to mat the tag.  I adhered the tag to the die cut and then to the card front.

Tag #6:  Since this tag has the greeting stamped in the landscape orientation, I chose to use the same orientation on the note card.  A panel of Gold Foil Sheets was adhered horizontally to the card front and a strip of Garden Green cardstock was placed horizontally at the center of the panel with the right end punched into a banner tail using the Triple Banner punch.  The tag was adhered at the center of the card front.  I chose to leave the shimmery gold bow on the tag because it was just too cute to remove.  So if you were mailing this card, the card would still fit in the note card envelope but it would be too thick for the postal machines.  You would need to place the card in a padded envelope or add padding to the card front, which might make the card too thick for the envelope.  I'd probably save this card for a hand delivery.

Tag #7:  I just love the glittery snowflake on this tag!  To mat this tag, I chose the next larger size framelit from the Banners Framelits and die cut a piece of Real Red cardstock in the Big Shot.  A narrow strip of Gold Glimmer Paper was adhered just below the top edge of the Real Red banner and then the tag was adhered to the banner and the banner to the card front.  Like Tag #6, this card would need some extra attention for mailing or hand delivery.

I'll be back on Saturday with the remaining three tags.

Have a great day!
