Black and White with a Splash of Color

Black and White with a Splash of Color

Card designed for a color swap. The direction: use only Black and White for the design elements with a splash of color provided by an embellishment that is not cardstock. I CASEd this design from a project I made at a Shoebox Swap. The 5-petal flower, the black center circle of the flower and lower area of the card Whisper White mat on the card front were embossed with Textured Impressions embossing folders and the Big Shot. The 5-petal flower used the Square Lattice folder and the black circle and lower card front use the Perfect Polka Dots folder. The 5-petal flower was punched out with the Large Fancy Flower punch. The black embossed circle was punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch, and these two elements are joined with the 5/8" Neutrals (Whisper White) brad. The flower is adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. The top edge of the Basic Black strip was punched with the Eyelet Border punch. The sentiment comes from the Upsy Daisy stamp set and was stamped with Basic Black ink. A Real Red 5/8" satin ribbon was adhered to the Basic Black strip with Sticky Strip. 3/4" loops were created and then pressed down and adhered to the adjoining loop with SNAIL.
