You're the Best -- 3-2-1 Stamp Team Swap

Hello!

A busy week so far getting things wrapped up from last weekend's On Stage event in Tampa and staging supplies in my work room in preparation for my final Christmas Card class this weekend.  I'm also getting things ready for family arrivals for the Thanksgiving holiday.  I'm excited to be seeing a couple of my grandchildren in just a few more days!

Today's post is a swap card I designed for the second of my two organized swaps at On Stage Tampa.  This one was for the 3-2-1 Stamp Team.  It's always fun to swap with these very talented stampers.  You may recognize the basic design of the card as one I made for the Global Design Project 003 challenge to make a baby themed card.  You can see my submission here.

Youre_the_Best

This card begins with a card base of Mint Macaron with the edges of the card front sponged with Mint Macaron ink.  A piece of Soft Suede cardstock was stamped with the Brushstrokes background stamp inked with Versamark.  The edges of the Soft Suede cardstock were sponged with Soft Suede ink.

A strip of Tear & Tape adhesive was placed across the Soft Suede cardstock 1-1/4" from the bottom edge.  Then a 12" length of Mint Macaron 1" Dotted Lace Trim was finger pleated along the adhesive.

A piece of Whisper White cardstock was stamped with the "You're the Best" sentiment from the Friendly Wishes stamp set using Night of Navy ink.  The sentiment was die cut with the Big Shot using the Deco Labels Collection Framelits aligning the top line of the sentiment with the top edge of the framelit and the "Best" part of the sentiment in the wider area of the framelit.  The framelit was cut approximately 1/2" below the bottom edge of "Best" and the edges of the die cut sponged with Mint Macaron ink.

One of the things that always stymies me is what to do with the long line of attached rhinestones on the Rhinestone Basic Jewels card.  For this card, I decided to clip five of the attached rhinestones and place them to the right of the "Best" as an exclamation point.  I placed a small rhinestone below the line of five as the dot of the exclamation point.

The edges of a piece of English Garden Designer Series Paper were sponged with Soft Suede ink.  Three Stampin' Dimensionals were placed along the back top edge of the paper and three Mini Glue Dots along the bottom back edge.  The bottom edge of the Designer Series Paper was adhered over the finger-pleated Mint Macaron lace so that approximately 1/2" of the lace is visible below the bottom edge of the paper.  Before adhering the Stampin' Dimensionals, the "You're the Best" sentiment was adhered near the center right of the Soft Suede cardstock with the bottom part of the sentiment below the top edge of the Designer Series Paper.  Then the Stampin' Dimensionals on the Designer Series Paper were pressed into place.

A piece of Night of Navy 1/2" Seam Binding ribbon was wrapped around the Designer Series Paper and Soft Suede cardstock and knotted at the left side of the Designer Series Paper.  The ends of the ribbon were trimmed with Paper Snips.  The Soft Suede cardstock was adhered to the Mint Macaron card front.

Youre_the_Best_Inside

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the edges of the cardstock sponged with Mint Macaron ink.  A strip of English Garden Designer Series Paper, the edges sponged with Mint Macaron ink, was adhered along the top edge of the liner.

Youre_the_Best_Envelope

Three rows of the Brushstrokes background stamp were inked with Mint Macaron ink.  The left front edge of the Medium Whisper White envelope was placed over the inked rows and a scrap piece of paper placed over the envelope.  Then I rubbed my hand over the background stamp to ensure the ink was completely transferred to the envelope.

I really like the simple design of this card.  The sentiment takes center stage, but the details with the paper, lace, and rhinestones make my eyes happy.
